He's a pretty funny guy at times, truth be told. But, the reason for this post is something he said. He was making a comment about Paxil - which is an antidepressant. Apparently, one of the side effects of Paxil is an increase in suicidal thoughts and it has been blamed for people who have committed suicide. No, really. I looked it up - just because that's just freaking weird and odd. Have a look.
Is anyone else struck by the utter irony of that? (; I mean, it's sad, yes. But - WoW. (; A medication for anti-depression has been known to cause to an increase in suicidal thoughts.
WoW. That's just - WoW. XD
What's causing my rant today? The lovely news from Great Britain. Have you heard about this shit yet?
Check it out.
What the hell is wrong with these people? I do not understand it at all. Sure. Take out your anger and aggression against the US on poor, unsuspecting citizens of Great Britain. Yeah. That makes a shitload of sense. ::sighs:: Yeah, yeah. I get it. The planes were outbound for the US, but still.
I'm supposed to visit someone in Germany in the spring. Now I want to take a cruise ship to get there. Who's with me? We'll just drink the whole way....
Her entry reminded me of another story I heard that was similar. Just a - wtf?!
Can you believe it?
Police are searching for a man who they said set his wife on fire Monday inside a T-Mobile store where she worked.
Authorities said the man walked into the store at about 10:30 a.m. Six customers were in the store, including a child. The man was carrying a 20-ounce Sprite bottle that contained gasoline. He began to douse the 31-year-old victim with gasoline, and when she fled through the back of the store, he followed, continuing to pour gasoline on her. Outside the store, the man set his wife on fire.
The woman then ran back into the store where a customer used a towel to extinguish the flames. Richardson said the man quietly walked back into the store, picked up car keys and left like nothing happened.

Get the full scoop.
On the upside - they caught the guy. Yeesh.
Here's the one I found today: EU urged to fight anti-Semitism
So, here's my thought . . .
The Jewish community is completely up in arms about the waves of Anti-Semitism sweeping through Europe. The Arab miniorites were singled out several times in the article.
So - here's my thought for the day.
What about the anti - wait, there's not even a word for it, that I am aware of. Anti-Arab sentiments, I suppose, then. What about that? Since 9/11, it has been spreading like a plague. I can understand people are frightened, but there is no reason to blame an entire population for the actions of the fundamentalists. Yet, it is happening. And the very fact that no one seems to really be talking about it scares me. I really do not want *any*one persecuted like the Jewish people were during World War II. Yet, as loud as the Jewish communities are about the waves of Anti-Semitism - and don't get me wrong, I don't think there should be Anti-Semitism - what about the waves of the other? The Anti-Arab sentiments, for a lack of an actual word. What about the Arabs who were just living their life when all this happened and are now looked at as criminals - when they aren't? Where's the conference on that?
Am I misinformed? Are these things being dealt with? Am I ignorant of things going on?
I truly hope so. Because it's an issue. And I am hoping it's not an issue we'll look back on and go - "Oh, damn. Let's hope that doesn't happen - again." When, in fact, we could have taken a nod from the Holocaust and made sure it didn't happen again - to a different group of people.
Go on - give me your thoughts. Flame me up. Go on. I can take it. Ask Luka.
