I'll be honest.

I don't know.

I got back from Germany and it was suddenly just so hard to blog. Which is dumb. Because, really, all you have to do is sit down and write about your day. I mean, seriously, how the fuck hard is that?
"I went to work and the children of 5th period were asshats yet again today."
Or -
"I went home to see my mom and tried to drown my laptop...."

But - can I do that?

Insomnia Sucks

I had insomnia last night.
Dear god. That's just not fun. >___<

Laying in bed. Trying to sleep. Just laying there. >_<

Ugh.

Now the day is going to suck hardcore because I'm going to be tired all day.

And I went to bed and didn't sleep well for an hour. It was not right. >__<

So, yeah. Saw one am. Saw two am because I couldn't sleep well.

How Dumb Are You?

Okay. I think it's official. Reporters are dumb.

I watch the news in the morning to get the weather and whatnot. This morning, it's all about the Pope's visit because, well, it's a big deal that the Pope is having Mass here in DC. The reporter was interviewing someone involved in that Mass. Apparently, this woman got to meet the Pope yesterday. The reporter says to her...

"Tell me what that was like."

Maybe it's just me, but the gut reaction I had to that was:

"Indescribable."

Because, really, for the devout Catholic, actually meeting the Pope would be. Few people get to do that. Actually meet the Pope himself, talk to him. >__<

I didn't hear what the woman actually said because I was doing the morning thing, which took me away from the television, but - wow. I just felt like the reporter was an idiot.

Hrmm. Perhaps I'm biased, having been raised Catholic, so I know how many would feel about meeting the Pope. Srsly? I would totally be all over that. Meeting the Pope. Yes. We all know I'm a seriously lapsed Catholic. (Really lapsed. >_>) But - still. I will go to Vatican City one day. Just because. It's one of those things that I grew up with. The Pope was the man. Just under God himself. Yes, I am aware he's just a man. Yes, it's probable he does not exactly have the direct line to God, here. But - well. Still.

One of my students is going to the Papal Mass and I'm jealous. I want to go. But - yeah. Lapsed Catholic == no chance in hell of getting a ticket.

I'll watch on TV.

So, Friday, I'm packing up at work, getting ready to go home.

Papers in bag. Check.
Jacket. Check.
Purse. Check.
Computer off. Check.
Exchange school keys for car keys. Che -

Car keys? Hello?! *Frantic rummaging amongst purse, pockets, desk drawer, and school bag*

Shit. No keys. They have to be in the car. I go to my car. Yup. Right there on driver's seat.

Fuck.

Call mom. Does AAA fix this? Probably, she says. Where's your card, she says. At home in my other purse, I say. I haven't switch back to my other purse after vacation yet. The one with my full wallet - and my extra car key. She gives me the AAA number and the account number. I call. Do you unlock cars? All the time, they say.

Thank, fucking, god.

The time now is 3:05, they say. Someone will arrive between now and 3:50, they say. Okay, I say. I sit on the ground and start grading, thanking the goddess that despite the cloudy skies, it's a relatively nice day.

3:30. Phone call. The truck. The man who opens my car.

Puzzle Quest obsession

So for those of you not in the know, Puzzle Quest is this really awesome game where you match the gems to get powers and execute moves. It’s tough to explain, but it’s kinda like Bejeweled, except what you match matters. Different types of gems do different types of thing. You can also cast spells and use abilities. You also quest throughout the Puzzle Quest world, and gain levels. It’s a very long game (at least to me it is).

I play it mainly on the Nintendo DS, much like Pandora does, but it is available for all the gaming consoles I believe. Though how you can play the game without the stylus on the DS is beyond me. It’s so much easier with it.

But Pandora is obsessed with the game right now, so she made me post about it. And you might recall that when Pandora says to jump you say “how high?”

[updated] Because I’m such a dork I did not realize Pandora has PQ for the Wii too!!!!! ZOMG, I must haves it! My precious! I want my PQ for Wii!!!

[updated] Because I’m an even bigger dork, I’m updating it to say that this is Yoshi. Is that better you RSS readers?

TV Suck

Why does Thursday suck for TV? I mean, really, why is there nothing on?

For that matter, why is there TOO much on TV on Wednesday?!

Top Chef, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY....
The networks torture me on Wednesdays. I must CHOOSE. I have no TiVo. Or even TiFaux, like Diz. I have to - pick a show. Like the old days.

Oh god. The humanity!

Though, seriously, why all on Wednesdays? Can't we have some things on Thursdays? When there's - NOTHING? Yeeesh.

Make me a Supermodel on Bravo was okay for about four weeks. After that - I was done with it. It just wasn't the same as Project Runway or Top Chef. Hell, even Top Design was interesting for the entire run. I just couldn't get that into Make Me a Supermodel. Ah well.

Back to work. And I'm not even sure I was ready for it. I woke up at freaking 2:30 am. Ugh. And then, like - every hour on the hour. It sucked. A lot. Meh.

However! Back to work wasn't bad at all! The students must have all been asleep still, given how easy they were, really. Some were having problems getting back into the swing of things, but, for the most part, it was a really easy day. Score one for me! Horray!

And! Bonus?! No meeting after school.

Sweeeeeeeeeeet. Totally sweet. (=

I have returned, dear internets! I have returned!

I am back from Germany and the boys have taken great care of my blog. Many thanks to Daniel, Yoshi, Colin, and Abraxus for keeping the dust off the blog whilst I was overseas!

I see things went swimmingly and I am very proud of them. And very grateful.

Pictures to come when I find the cord which will connect my camera to my laptop.

The title makes me think of Ted Nugent. Anyway… it seems that Pandora is away on holiday and there’s been all these wierdos who’ve taken over her site. It’s absolutely horrible the state the place is in. So I thought I’d join in.

This is cybrpunk from cybrpunk.com and sadly I don’t have a video of me putting on or taking off reading glasses. I know I know it’s a shame, but we’ll all just have to learn to live with it.

On the other hand I have started a new webcomic at A Little Scary which I thought I’d shamelessly plug here. It’s not as cool as eyewear, but hopefully it’s a least worth checking out.
