The Meltdown has undergone a bit of a change. I don't know what number I'm on, so I'm just going to date it. And I'm not going to give you an issue. Take mine, if you like, or use your own. Comment on mine, tell *me* where to go. It's all kosher. (=
My meltdown after the bump, as per usual.
Here's what they were discussing...
That the people who run the election are trying to get as prepared as possible. IE, making sure the voting machines are working, enough people working the elections to make sure the voting goes as quickly as possible, etc.
Why?
Because if Barack Obama doesn't win, they are afraid there will be an outcry that the election was fixed - against him.
Really?
Do we have people in our American Public THAT ignorant? To think that, in 2008, at THIS point in our country's history, we'd fix an election against ANYONE? Much less a black man?
What.
The.
Hell.
I hate this country sometimes.
(Because, even as I typed that, I knew that we did. Dear Goddess.)
I'm moving. Which country wants a new citizen? Because, really, if I can't go vote in an election without having to worry about a riot breaking out due to the outcome....
If you have taken the time to figure out that I've marked a student present when he/she should be marked absent, why do you not just fix it yourself rather than exit out of the program, then open email to email me to tell ME to change the attendance? Seriously? How much extra work did you just create for the both of us? You had it right there....
Yeesh.
New prime number! 43,112,609
How the mathematicians even figured this one out, I don't even know, but - to all geeks everywhere - new prime number! :D
Second:
The Redskins won their game versus the Cowboys - in Dallas. What the hell. Who knew? (I'm not even a football fan and I knew they weren't supposed to do that....)
Third:
AGH! Yoshi! Danalyn! HALP! Those stupid nonsense comments are back. What can I do?! )=
Fourth:
Daniel! We need a chat date!
It was a tragic event. Not only did people lose loved ones, an entire country lost the feeling of being safe at home.
I get it.
However.
Can we let go a little bit?
Anyone?
Can the date 11 September go by without tributes and memorials services and whatnot? Without the entire newscast being dedicated to what happened and what's happening now?
Please. PLEASE. Lord have mercy.
Flame me if you want, but I'm so ready for people to grieve without the media telling them to do so. That'd be absolutely fabulous.
Ugh.
Maybe I don't get it. Maybe I just have no patriotism. (Yeah. Sure, I don't.) Maybe it's just because I live in the DC area. I imagine New York is the same.
I just - ugh.
I'm tired of it. Tired of all of it. No, I didn't lose anyone. Is that the problem? I have no sense of loss, so I just don't care?
Who knows. But - it's my blog, and I say ....
ENOUGH ALREADY!
(Wait. Didn't I say this last year.... No, I guess not. I thought I posted about it last year, but no. I looked. (; So, I just must have told someone. Same frustration last year. :/ )
Go on. Flame me. I can take it.
